Tiger Woods Jokes for the Soul (Some Clean/Some Dirty)
In the wake of one of the biggest controversial stories in 2009 heading into the new year, lets break out the jokes at full capacity; here are some Tiger jokes you can't resist, by the way if you don't know what I'm talking about (and you've been living under a rock) in terms of "biggest controversial story in 2009..." just Google: Tiger Woods Cheating Scandal or Tiger Woods SUV Accident:
What is the difference between you and Tiger Woods?About one billion dollars.
9 women come forward and confess to having sex with Tiger. I guess golfers always complete nine holes.
Did you hear Tiger was changing his name to Cheetah?
Whats the difference between an suv and a golf ball?Tiger woods can drive a golf ball 400 yards
Whats the difference between Tiger and Santa Clause? Santa stops at 3 Ho's
Tiger Woods walks into a bar and says to the bartender, "Give me a double, my wife just beat me..."The bartender says to Tiger, "Yeah, I saw that on the news. That golf club must have hurt."Tigers replies, "No, not that. I mean she beat me getting to the best divorce lawyer in the state!"
This could be the most expensive front and back nine that Tiger has ever played!
Why did Tiger hit a fire hydrant and a tree?He couldn't choose between an iron and a wood.
Ever since the accident, golfers have been calling Tiger's wife to ask how to beat him
They don't call him a tiger for nothing, If cougars are women who want younger men, then I guess that makes tigers who want younger girls
David Letterman wishes Tiger would stop asking him for advice, so does Shaq, Mark Sanford, John Edwards.....
Last Friday, Tiger Woods hit a tree and a bunch of ladies fell out
Tiger has a new movie coming out. It's called Crouching Tiger, Hidden Hydrant
Did you hear Nike's new motto? Just do me
Technically Tiger is not black, but for golf he is Wesley Snipes
Did you hear that Phil Mickelson called Elin Nordegren? He asked her for some tips on beating Tiger.
Tiger always gives 110 percent. That is why he gave 100 percent to his wife and still had 10 percent left over for his alleged mistress
One of the women who claims she slept with Tiger Woods says they never talked about golf while having sex. However, contractually Tiger was obligated to talk about Nike, Gatorade and American Express
Whenever Tiger strikes a long putt, someone always shouts out “In the hole”. Betcha Tiger never hears that from Elins’ lips again!
Tiger Woods Presents-”The Diary of an Angry White Woman”
Q: What is tiger’s most memorable drive?A: The one out of his driveway.
Tiger has 9 mistresses. First time he’s gone 4 over par.
KFC’s coming out with a ‘Tiger Meal. White breast only.
Surely Tiger knows by now you cant hit out of bounds without taking a penalty.

Three Times is A Charm as Eastern Tech wins their 1st state football championship
Your Eastern Tech Mavericks football squad had been in this situation before. It was win or go home. Play or get played. Take advantage of opportunities or wait until next year. But this time it was different. A different opponent and a different feel for things. This time they were more experienced. They walked like champions, talked like champions and were humble like champions. But the question is would they have the heart of a champion. They knew they couldn’t fail Coach Mesaros and his staff who had been working with them in the weight room since the Monday after they lost to River Hill in 2007, 14-7. You could sense that a change was coming to the culture of football in this small magnet school situated in the middle of Baltimore County. There was something different, something that started to spark and click with these players and finally that all paid off on a cold Saturday afternoon that saw the season’s first snow in the Baltimore area. It was below 40 degrees at M&T Bank Stadium but these guys knew that after 2 straight appearances in the state championship before, something had to change. The haters and doubters needed to be proven wrong and the 2009 MPSSAA 3A Varsity Football title needed to come on down to Baltimore County. Eastern Tech lead 9-0 at halftime after a touchdown by the invincible Zach Burkhardt which went 85 yds., and a costly mistake by the special teams crew of the number 1 seeded Queen Anne’s Lions who fumbled a punt all the way to the end zone which caused a safety. In the second half, Chucky Iweh ran for a 9-yd TD but not before Queen Anne’s tried to make a comeback for the ages, but it was too late. They finally pulled it off. As the players stood on the field for one final kneel to run off the clock and end the game you could see Coach Mesaros jumping up and down getting drenched with Gatorade and players hugging and crying together, you would have almost thought they were watching Titanic. In an interview I did with Coach Mesaros in 2008 he said that the biggest reason why Eastern Tech’s football program is successful is because of the work ethic they have put forth to improve their game, “we outworked a lot of teams and a lot of people” and that statement became blatantly obvious through the way these guys had played during the whole season. The team lost 12 seniors last year and nobody believed in them, now they are about to lose 22 seniors like Emmanuel Gbor, Crizon Brown, Wole Ognubo and others. There is a different atmosphere when it comes to football at Eastern Tech now, the passion that these players have acquired is like none other, for all those who doubt and say that it isn’t possible to go back to defend our title next year, just listen to the advice of two-time NBA champ and coach of the year Rudy Tomjanovich. The Rockets were the lowest seed in the NBA playoffs but were able to win the NBA championship, when talking to the media Rudy exclaimed “NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE HEART OF A CHAMPION!”

SOUNDOFF: No Public Option = Health Care/Insurance Reform?? WHAT!!!??? Health Care/Insurance Reform Part 2
I'm sure you've heard by now if you are keeping track with this ObamaCare initiative, that the White House is leaning towards maybe allowing Congress to axe out the public option as part of these new health care/insurance reform bills that are going around Washington. Now if you don't know what the public option is, let's give you some details:
The public option is:
-a non-profit health insurance option that Americans will have to pay for healthcare that will be payed for by taxpayers depending on your income
-it is run and operated by the government
-many experts believe that it will be the least expensive option
-it is being established to provide competition so that insurance companies can lower their prices (the amount of health insurance that you would pay for health care) because if insurance companies are smart and know how to do business they would know that if their is an option that is being offered that is cheaper (the gov't/public option); their customers might want to switch over to that option, so in order to keep customers they would simply lower their prices
-the purpose is NOT to run insurance companies out of business!
THE ONLY THING THAT I DISAGREE WITH IS THIS: "The government would regulate the exchange so that insurance companies can't discriminate against people with pre-existing conditions, or charge wildly different amounts for similar coverage."
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2009/aug/13/health-care-reform-simple-explanation/
In my opinion a private-public independent hybrid bi-partisan non-profit non-gov't relations impartial commission should be placed in charge of regulating the insurance companies, because if you have the gov't regulating the insurance companies then claims of socialism and gov't takeover might actually make sense. It might not be the government's intention to give the private sector less power to make revenue but that's what it is going to look like in the public's eyes.
BUT..... now back to the main discussion point; Republicans argue that with a public option in place employers will tell their employees that they aren't paying for their health insurance anymore and that the employees should just switch to the public option; but if the insurance companies are lowering prices because of the potential competition factor that could be at stake then why would be necessary for employers to drop insurance for it's employees??
And let's be honest; WITHOUT the PUBLIC OPTION where is the CHANGE AND REFORM IN HEALTH CARE, it's basically more of the same! Mr. President, you yourself have said that change isn't easy and is hard to fathom and understand but it HAS to be DONE!! So why are'nt you and the Democrats doing all you can to push this bill through??? I know you promised change in Washington and more bi-partisanship but sir that IS NOT POSSIBLE when you're opposing party has most of it's base in the south and still thinks we are living in the 60's and determines things right or wrong through race and political party. If Obama was a republican all this would have gone through in about 2 months time; the Democrats would have had disagreements with the spending but they would'nt pull the race card or the socialist card or the political party card; if you could convince the Democrats in reasonable negociations things would be done in a jiffy. But the Republicans have such an extremist base that bipartisanship is IMPOSSIBLE!
Mr. President; no other President has ever had a majority in Congress with people in the same party as they are in for both of their terms in a long time; so while you have a majority Democratic congress you should be getting as much done as possible; you should'nt need to worry about what Republicans think right now! You can start doing that in 2010 when the seats will be more towards an equillibriam with Repubs and Dems, or majority Democratic.
I also think the disagreement with the healthcare bill as I've said before has totally been overblown by the media; Obama was in Phoenix the other day speaking; and the media was saying "Although the President arrived in Phoenix where there was a majority pro-reform crowd there is still mostly anger around the nation" That statement is inaccurate because despite what you see on TV, America is basically 50-50 on a reformation of healthcare, but Mr. President the longer this goes; the lower the approval ratings for it will be; the lower your health care approval is; that's a lower job approval; lower job approval = more steam for the Repubs in 2010 and 2012; this is the same party that every1 was saying was falling apart in January lol!! I know the media has been accussed of a love affair with Obama, but please also TELL THE TRUTH as I have said in the past.

SOUNDOFF: Obama Health Care/Health Insurance Reform
Are you confused about Barack Obama's new healthcare/health insurance reform plan, yea, well I was too. Until I watched a town hall meeting that occured on Friday in Montana. First of all, for me too even be able to sit and be able to watch this town hall ment that their was definetley nothing to watch on TV and that I was bored LOL! But anyways, this healthcare/health insurance reform is pretty hard to understand, and I think 2 sides are at fault with that
-the Obama administration
-the media
The Obama administration over the summer have been scheduling all these online and TV press conferences and town halls about health care but they have'nt really answered some of the basic questions like HOW ARE WE GONNA PAY FOR HEALTH CARE? Finally, I heard Obama loud and clear today at this town hall meeting:
Basically what Obama is saying there is that
-People who say that you should'nt have your taxes raised no matter how much you make are wrong, Americans are wrong for thinking you can get SOMETHING for NOTHING, that type of greediness is what got us into the financial disaster in the first place
-If we eliminate waste or political pork we can get 2/3'rds of health care paid off, the question is though Mr. President WHERE ARE THOSE CUTS GOING TO BE AT? WHAT PROGRAMS DO YOU CONSIDER WASTE?
-If rich people did not get as many tax breaks from for example donating money to non-profits, more revenue would be coming in
So that basically makes sense, if thats what is going to be done then it should be done, it makes sense and was explained very well in the YouTube video above; the question is though, why are so many Americans misinformed about how we are going to pay for health care/insurance reform? Why did'nt Obama break down the financial means of paying for health care/insurance in the press conferences or in the many interviews he has done over the past couple of months? If we would have broken it done like this so many more Americans would have been informed of these measures?
Maybe we would'nt have so many people like this....
Another group that is at fault here, as seen above, is the MEDIA. The media has failed 110% at explaining what this health care reform is, how we would pay for it etc. The left wing partisan news shows like "Countdown" and "Rachel Maddow" have only focused on how these town hall protests could be organized which some are but not all. Right wingers like "The Factor" and "Hannity" have only focused on Fox News' ratings going up because they supposedley provide both sides of the spectrum and they also focused on how happy they are that the Democrats have failed at something.
Do you call this impartial news coverage?
First of all, I'm not even going to address Glenn Beck he's in a whole 'nother galaxy, he used to make sense when he was on CNN, now he just WEIRD! But Sean Hannity, you can't compare the "ObamaCare" to "CanadaCare" and call it socialized medicine because Obama has clearly said many times that:
-This is NOT A GOVERNMENT TAKEOVER OF HEALTHCARE!!!!
-A Public Option or a Gov't Option provides a cheaper option for consumers of health insurance to go to
-it is a cheaper version/option because it does'nt exist to profit like the other insurance companies, the gov't is not a company, this option would be non-profit.
-So check this out, if the gov't is offering an option that is cheaper; if your a good businessman then you are going to want to offer insurance that is cheaper or on par with what the gov't option is, this gov't option is there to provide competition so that the other health insurance companies can LOWER THEIR PRICES NOT TO RUN THE PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANIES OUT OF BUSINESS!!!
MY OPINION: The media has been critized in the past for having a love affair with Barack Obama, so maybe they are trying to make a change and be looked at more seriously IDK; but when we are talking about people's lives like this you can't be bullsh*tting people like that. If you're going to go on the airwaves and either not provide an accurate description of questions people want to know or your going to LIE in front of millions of peoples faces, then maybe you should'nt be on the airwaves in the first place. If you want to have a talk show and share your opinions that is fine, but you need to tell people THE FACTS first before you tell them your opinion because your viewers will then think that your opinion is a fact and then they will be MISINFORMED. These people yelling at townhalls they watch FOX 24/7 and they think Bill-O and Hannity and Greta are NEWS SHOWS!!! Which is why so many people get into hissy fights and they say the wrong things! The media is there to inform not for personal opinions but if wanna give your opinion you must inform with FACTS first before opinion. THE MEDIA SHOULD BE GIVING BOTH SIDES TO THIS STORY BUT ALL THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT IS THE INNOCENT PROTESTERS WHOSE OPINIONS DONT EVEN MAKE UP MAJORITY OF AMERICA
Americans appear split over President Barack Obama's health care proposals, according to a new national poll.
Sen. Harry Reid, center, talks about health care flanked by Sens. Christopher Dodd, left, and Charles Schumer.
Fifty percent of those questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey released Wednesday morning say they support the president's plans, with 45 percent opposed.
The results indicate a generational divide.
"Obama's plan is most popular among younger Americans and least popular among senior citizens," CNN Polling Director Keating Holland said. "A majority of Americans over the age of 50 oppose Obama's plan; a majority of those under 50 support it."
This is as of August 5th 2009 so it's pretty recent: http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/08/05/health.care.poll/index.html
LETS FACE IT AMERICA: America, if you want to keep the same health care you have right now you can keep it, that means if you like:
-your doctor
-your dentist
-your pets veterinarian
-your hospital etc.
KEEP IT!!!
And if you like the rate that you are paying for your insurance KEEP IT!
But if you believe that you are paying too much with this new reform bill you can switch providers and change your insurance, and it is easier than it was before now with this new reform to change your health care as well.
America, we can't give every person in this country access to the health care they desire or even health care period without giving them a health insurance option that is affordable for them and we can't provide insurance that is affordable without financing and how are we going to finance it (LOOK ABOVE) America, please do your research before you start yelling at your congressmen or congresswomen DONT ALWAYS TRUST THE MEDIA, and Mr. President you are a very articulate speaker; you should'nt be waiting until August which CNN marks as the "Make or Break Month" before you explain yourself in a way everyone can understand.
And by the way to all the Republicans who like spreading wrong information like saying that Obama is going to set up "death panels" and kill all the old people I have a question for you, you guys continue to disagree with the Prez but WHERE IS YOUR ALTERNATIVE PLAN??? Get a new plan in place before you start disputing others and Mr. President maybe you need to start listening to Bill Maher and forget this bipartisan BS.....:

Should College Athletes Get Paid?
Check out this story from the Washington Times by Tim Lewke:
Former UCLA basketball standout Ed O'Bannon has filed a class action lawsuit seeking to stop the NCAA from licensing the images and likenesses of former college athletes in DVDs, photographs and other products.
The lawsuit, filed Tuesday afternoon in U.S. District Court in San Francisco, says the NCAA has improperly benefited from using former Division I football and basketball players' images even after they stopped playing and seeks an injunction to stop the practice.
It also seeks damages and an accounting of the money made by the NCAA from past licensing. In addition, the lawsuit says the NCAA has violated antitrust laws by not allowing athletes to negotiate their own licensing deals.
O'Bannon, a member of UCLA's 1995 national championship team, is the only player named in the suit. But attorneys said the case was filed on behalf of thousands of athletes.
"We're going to assist them in challenging the NCAA's right to license their [image] and likeness," said Megan Jones, an attorney in the D.C. office of Hausfeld LLP, one of the firms representing O'Bannon. "As the growth of technology has increased, so has the means by which the NCAA can license these images. There's been an awakening in the players because they're seeing themselves more and more places. And they're asking, 'How did I get there without anyone talking to me?' "
The NCAA declined to comment because it had not reviewed the lawsuit. In the past, it has denied any infringement of athletes' rights, arguing that paying players would be contrary to the basis of amateur athletics.
O'Bannon agreed to be the lead plaintiff in the case after meeting with Sonny Vaccaro, a former sports marketing executive who has toured the country the last two years to speak out against the NCAA's lack of compensation for players.
"I just really want people to understand that it's all about exploitation," O'Bannon said. "The NCAA has exploited its ex-players and student athletes, and it's about time everyone sees that."
Vaccaro called the NCAA's refusal to compensate former players for the licensing of their images "the ultimate servitude."
"They don't have the right in perpetuity," he said Tuesday. "No one has the right to anything for an indeterminate amount of time."
The lawsuit does not ask for a specific amount in damages. But any award likely would be sizable; the NCAA licenses a wide array of products while also allowing for broadcasts of past games and other events involving players.
This is not the first legal challenge to the NCAA's use of college players' images. In May, former Nebraska quarterback Sam Keller sued the NCAA and video game-maker EA Sports on the grounds that the company had no right to use players' likenesses in its games. EA Sports and the NCAA have claimed innocence, arguing that the games do not use photos or names of players.
Legal analysts said there is a good chance this latest case will survive at least initial legal challenges because of the roster of experienced and high-profile attorneys involved. Hausfeld is seen as one of the top class action litigators in the country. Other attorneys include David Boies, who worked on behalf of former Vice President Al Gore during the recount of the 2000 presidential election.
But experts said handicapping the case could be challenging.
"Whatever benefits there are in promoting the amateur mission of the NCAA for existing college players, I'm not sure that argument is as salient in the context of [retired] guys," said Michael McCann, associate professor at Vermont Law School and a columnist for SI.com. "A guy like Ed O'Bannon, did he give up the right to license his image just by being a college athlete? The NCAA could argue that 'yeah, you do. There's free tuition and all the benefits you get as a college player.' So it will be interesting because there are good arguments on both sides."
I think this is just a former student athlete who is struggling in this economy looking for more dough, how could this even be feasible; I mean honestly not only would you have to pay current Division 1 athletes but you would have to pay former Division 1 athletes as well; I don't believe the NCAA, despite the billions of dollars it makes each year would be capable of paying all that money. In my opinion Division 1 players should have a choice in whether they want to keep their scholarships or have a job, for example if Tim Tebow decides that he wants to work as an analyst for ESPN in the offseason or host a show thats fine, he should be able to do the job and still be a college athlete, but his scholarships should WITHOUT A DOUBT be revoked; that is the only way I see college athletes getting paid otherwise, there is no use because when you sign a scholarship; the school pays for your tuition, books, transportation, and anything else that you would want or desire, why should you be able to have an extra revenue stream when there are so many college students struggling to pay for tuition!

LEBRON JAMES DUNK SAGA
-Earlier today when I logged onto my computer I went on TMZ and was excited to find out that the video of LeBron James getting dunked on would be released to the public, first it would air on TMZ TV and then a full video would be released at 6:45PM on TMZ.com
-Harvey Levin; the mastermind behind TMZ then appeared on the Dan Patrick Show and said that he would not reveal how he got the video but only said that it cost anywhere between $10,000-50,000
-But suddenly for reasons I don't understand TMZ decided to release the video early at 3:02PM ET; I had just logged off of my computer an hour earlier so I wasn't aware of this, then I began watching SportsNation on ESPN2 and they said they had the LeBron video and I was like WTF? didn't TMZ say they had it? But then I saw the TMZ logo on the video and the rest I guess is history lol.
-I went to Twitter to check if there was any buzz on the video and discovered there was another version of the video with higher quality from a website called ebaumnation.com, it was released exactly 10 minutes after TMZ released its version, the question is why did TMZ release the video early?
-Did they get word that ebaumnation.com was going to release a better version earlier than they would like? Did they want to embarass LeBron James early? Who knows?
UPDATE: As soon as I got the link and made sure that this was actually high quality video of LeBron getting dunked on, I tweeted it to SportsNation and a couple of blogger friends of mine; 10 minutes after I tweeted it to them; I was watching SportsNation on ESPN (They are on ESPN subbing for ATH and PTI this week) and saw the version of the video that I had just sent to them IDK if they got my tweet or not but that was pretty cool to me lol
NOW THE WINNERS AND LOSERS OF THIS WHOLE SAGA LETS START WITH:
WINNERS:
Ebaumnation.com- This little known website which appears to be a male social networking website was able to scoop the scooper in TMZ (Which in the past has scooped many entertainment stories most recently the deaths of Walter Cronkite and Michael Jackson) and not only have video that TMZ claimed was exclusive but have better quality video
Twitter: Word that their was a better version of the LeBron getting dunked on video would not have gotten out without the amazing work of art and technology that is Twitter
Ryan Miller from Syracuse.com: Ryan Miller is an up and coming journalist from Syracuse, NY who's trying to become the next Dan Patrick or Stuart Scott (I am 2 lol) and he was able to get face time on Fox News, CNN, ESPN SportsCenter, MSNBC, ABC News etc.
LOSERS:
TMZ: Not only were they scooped by a website that no one has ever heard of but they had nothing new to offer, the quality of the video was terrible and they PAID $10,000-50,000 FOR A VIDEO WHERE U CAN BARELY SEE THE DUNK, Worst of all you can't even embed the video on your blog, Facebook, MySpace, ESPN.com etc. while you can embed the video from Ebaumnation.com which has better quality, so if this story stays alive by tomorrow bloggers and social networking users are most likely to post the Ebaumnation.com video of the dunk. UPDATE 6:30PM: ESPN SportsCenter is'nt even using TMZ's video
LEBRON JAMES AND NIKE: I know LeBron is supposed to be hyped up as the King and the next big thing in the NBA and he's basically flawless and perfect but LeBron did'nt even get dunked on that badly; and everyone has gotten dunked on before; LEBRON UR NOT PERFECT JUST REALIZE IT LOL! Also this is not the first time an amateur has beaten LeBron in something; don't forget LeBron lost a game to horse last summer at a promotion done by Club Cadet
So, LeBron and Nike stop being such pussys about this, as Miley Cyrus says....
And we all know LeBron is all about making money (He goes to Silicon Valley once a year to meet with billionaires like Rupert Murdoch, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Summer Redstone etc.) Nike and LeBron could have made a commercial out of this, here's Kenny 'The Jet' Smith's idea:
My new commercial idea ! Show every play lebron gets shook, stolen from, blocked and finally dunked on! Then tag it NO ONES PERFECT!
2:07 AM Jul 9th from TwitterFon
If you've never been dunked on you've never played against real competition! What's the big deal?
1:59 AM Jul 9th from TwitterFon
-www.twitter.com/thejetonTNT
And the worst thing about it is it's not like LeBron got posterized or totally demolished; it was'nt the greatest dunk I've ever seen (but it was pretty good LOL) Jordan Crawford, even if he makes the NBA or not and decides to go to Europe or an alternative league, whatever the case is he will always be known as the guy who dunked on LeBron lol (UNLESS SOMEONE ELSE DOES, WHERE CAN I GET AN APPLICATION FOR NEXT YEAR'S CAMP)
P.S. This show TMZ TV is a hot mess it's my 1st time watching it I always hear that it's one of the highest rated syndicated TV shows but the same stuff online is what's on TV it's a stupid show but if SportsCenter was'nt on at the same time I would probably watch it LOL
UPDATE 7PM: Here is ebaumnation.com's version:
And here is TMZ's version:
All courtesy of YouTube users who recorded both versions and posted them on YouTube, by tomorrow both videos especially the ebaumnation.com version will have thousands if not millions of hits

SOUNDOFF: Media coverage of MJ and reaction to Al Sharpton vs. Bill O'Reilly
For the first time in a long time, I find myself agreeing with Rev. Al Sharpton. For first time in a long time, I find myself believing that Rev. Al is actually smart and sees with color not black and white. I give Rev. Al credit for everything he did with the civil rights movement and recently with the Jena 6 fighting for the rights of young minorities like myself, but in the past after listening to many of his sermons and after listening to his presidental campaign speeches in 2006 I stopped supporting civil rights leaders like Rev. Al and Jesse Jackson, because in my opinion I believed that they were hypocrites and race baitors; and it has been proven because during Obama's presidential campaign in '08; sentiments of Obama not being black enough to be considered the first black president came from people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton early in the process, and it continued for a while with Jesse Jackson after Obama began to gain the black vote:
But of course as you know in the end all the black democrats came together with the Obama campaign and have supported him ever since:
Jesse Jackson cries after Obama win
Rev. Al, Newt Gingrich, Mayor Bloomberg meet with Obama about education reform
Anyways, back to my focus it seems like something has changed about Rev. Al, it seems like as I said before he sees with color and that not everything in this world is black and white. It seems that Obama has given him a stern talk that he can continue fighting civil rights but that not everything is about race, in the video above where he was meeting with Obama he was discussing education reform to help ALL American kids compete in the 21st century, not just minorities; so I have to give him credit where credit is due. Now to the topic on the table, Michael Jackson. Billo and Rev. Al decided to discuss the controversey that is Michael Jackson and the media buzz that his death is causing, the questions at stake were "Is the Michael Jackson media coverage overboard or just right?" and "Why are we celebrating a man who was a druggie and slept with little boys?" Lets break this down:
Bill O'Reilly believes:
-Michael Jackson is not an African American icon because he has white kids and was married to a white woman
-Michael Jackson did not bring people of all races, religions and backgrounds together
Al Sharpton argues that:
-Michael Jackson broke down racial barriers because he was the first black to have his music played on MTV and the first black to appear on Rolling Stones
-He was the first pop superstar bring awareness to African hunger
Bill O'Reilly then argues that:
-The credit he gets from MTV and Rolling Stones does'nt matter
Despite the fact that:
-MTV and Rolling Stones have made young people aware of different problems going on around the world such as hunger through pop superstars and inadvertadely helped the youth vote rise during last year's elections by showing the importance of voting for your local and national political representatives
But you could also argue that:
-MTV and Rolling Stones have contributed to the "corruption" of youth in this country because many young people want to be like pop superstars who got lucky and made it in the world without books instead of being focused on getting their education and competing academically with youth around the world and bringing that literacy rate of the US down
-That could support O'Reilly's opinion that MTV and Rolling Stones hold no positive influence on society
Those are the facts about Sharpton vs. O'Reilly you decide your opinion here's mine:
Bill O'Reilly is wrong for stating that Michael Jackson is not an African American icon because from the time he was young he has influenced African-Americans and the way they are as human beings in both positive and negative ways. There have been testimonies from many African American celebrities that when they were young and they saw the Jackson 5 on the Ed Sullivan Show and they saw the Jackson 5 on the cartoons it gave them confidence to know that they could make it big in Hollywood some day. Michael Jackson is an African American icon because he showed African Americans how to do business, he bought 50% of the Sony/ATV catalog which included music from artists such as the Beatles, Little Richard and Michael Jackson himself; the Sony catalog also contains music from artists who are on Sony's label today. Michael showed African Americans that it was OK to interact with people of different cultures, in his music videos he featured people of many different walks of life and he wasn't afraid to mix those cultures together, for example in the music video "Bad" it shows Michael coming from an all white fraternity to going back to his roots in a black neighborhood and being made fun of, that scenario was a realistic scenario back then and today; in order to be black the steryotype out there is that you gotta be bad. Michael also showed interaction between cultures because of the type of people he would interact with, for example; Nelson Mandela, Madonna, Princess Diana, President Reagan, Elizabeth Taylor, Lizz Manelli, Brooke Shields, Lionel Richie, Diana Ross and the list goes on and on. Those are all people who come from all different types of walks of like and have very few similarities if any at all. Michael showed that it was OK to have all different types of friends you didnt always have to be with black people. Michael showed African Americans the struggles that they face through things like that. Michael was also an African American icon for many negative reasons, through his plastic surgery he showed African Americans the struggle of wondering whether he was black enough or whether he even wanted to be born black. He also struggled with a battle with drugs; those are all things we know African Americans can relate to. I also disagree with Bill O'Reilly that Michael didnt break down any racial barriers. If you look at videos from his concerts you don't just see all white people or all black people or all Asains, hispanics etc., it's like a rainbow you see everyone; I mean it reminds me of a Barack Obama campaign rally, people who wear all different types of shoes are there. Without Michael Jackson, you probably would have only seen Beyonce's "Single Ladies" video on BET, or Pitball "I Know You Want Me" on Mun2 or Univision or Telemundo; or maybe you would'nt have been able to watch any of those videos at all because maybe channels targeted for minorities would'nt even exist! I am proud of Al Sharpton for standing up for Michael and his family during their moments of sorrow and just as Marlon Jackson said during Mike's funeral; "maybe for the 1st time now that you're gone, maybe just maybe they'll leave you alone" R.I.P. MICHAEL JACKSON
I leave you today with video from Al Sharpton's beautiful speech at MJ's funeral and stupid, idiotic comments from Rep. Peter King of Buffalo, NY. I agree that maybe MJ's coverage may have been overboard but I personally was happy with it and you can't call MJ a pedophile when twice he was proven innocent. But I don't want to respond anymore than that to Rep. King's comments THAT'S ANOTHER STORY 4 ANOTHER DAY LOL
GREAT SPEECH BY AL SHARPTON (Probably the best speech I've ever heard him say and best of all it had absolutely nothing to do with racism LOL)
CONGRESSMAN KING'S STUPID COMMENTS AND INTERVIEW WITH BILLO (I agree and disagree with some of what King said about MJ BUT how dare he call him a pedophile)

BET AWARDS TRIBUTE FOR THE KING GOOD OR BAD? BAD!! by Troy Johnson from Troy and Marc: Off the Mic Blog at baltimoresun.com
BY TROY JOHNSON
Let me say this. The BET awards I'm sorry to say, were horrible. I'm not much of an awards show person anyway, but last night took the cake. Somebody needs to get fired at BET today.
There really were good moments of course, but not enough to warrant a good review from me. After hearing on the news that the show was 'completely revamped' to honor Michael Jackson, I decided to tune in.
Big mistake.
Mainly, because it wasn't a tribute! I guess if Solja Boy had done P.Y.T. I would've had a different view on this.
It was a comedy of errors...starting with Jaimie Foxx's failed attempt at a moonwalk, (For the record, I don't think I could do it either.) SKANK ROBBERS???, and out of breath performances from Keith Sweat, and Aaron Hall from Guy, the show just kept getting longer, and longer for no apparent reason. Who knew we were gonna get cussed out by Lil' Wayne, Drake, and Eddie Levert too!
Very classy to move from a song about effin' every girl in the world, (Shouldn't you do a radio version of a song, on a tribute show?) to the heartfelt statements given by Janet Jackson mourning her brother. This show was all over the place, with no rhyme or reason. And I'm sorry to say that I'm not surprised. BET has been disappointing me for some time now...and it isn't gonna be confined to an awards show that doesn't EVER need to be replayed. We also got to see what BET has in store for us this fall...
Tiny & Toya, and Frankie & Neffie! Yeah!
Maybe, I want too much from Black Entertainment Television...apparently balancing out some relevant, daily news programming with 106 & Park, and the new Mo'Nique' talk show is too much to ask for, so I stay away. It is also very apparent to me after listening to his music and reflecting on performances by Michael Jackson, that today's artists just aren't going to be able to attain that gold standard...proving agin that MJ was the best that ever did it.
Sorry, Soulja Boy...but I had to tell 'em. BET needs to go back to the drawing board...again.

hey i can give one cent to obama to keep it on dollarsand have we even made an improvement on paying
HERE IS MY OPINION ON THE STIMULUS AND THE GUYS' QUESTION:Jm Karangu at 3:49pm June 11
lol and no we havent yet but expect to in the future when the stimulus kicks in and creates jobs and when the car companies begin making money right because of the stimulus we have more national debt than we did with bush but if obamas plan works 100% then the national debt will be cut in 1/2 but every1 knows that in life not everything works as ... Read Moreplanned so I'm sure by the time obama leaves office 8 years from now the debt will be less than it was when he came in but it won't be by half, it'll be less than 1/2 but at least we r goin somewhere, republicans complain about the spending but they helped pass the stimulus, their party is in dissaray and if they were in office they probably would have done the same thing, also noone democratic or republican has come up with an alternative plan to the stimulus so until someone does that every1 from both parties should SHUT UP!

Champions League Final
FC Barcelona, the underdog in the Champions League final, in a championship that was supposed to be the dream European soccer championship, became a nightmare for Man U as Barcelona was able to pull off the historic upset 2-0. This proves to be historic because it is the first time that a club team from Spain has won the treble, a treble in Spain is when you win the UEFA Championship, La Liga Title and Copa de Rey. Samuel Eto'o scored a fascinating goal with 10 minutes on the clock, and Lionel Messi scored a rare header with 70 minutes on the clock, it was the Argentine's first goal against an English team in the Champions League. Man U's explosive offensive attack was held to a shocking NO goals which was the key to Barcelona's win. The great team effort of Barcelona, frustration by Ronaldo and Rooney, and great managing by Josep Guardiola in his first yr of coaching were the keys to the new car i.e. trophy that Barca won.
SOCCER TERMINOLOGY
La Liga- national professional league for Spain like the MLS in the US
Copa de Rey- Spanish club championship which include pro and amateur teams from Spain like the FA Cup in Britain, US Open Cup in US (if u still don't understand it's like having a National Football Championship where NFL, college football, arena football and street football teams from the US were to go against each other to decide who is the best football team in America)
UEFA Championship- Champions League final, the championship game to decide the best soccer team in Europe
If you wanna know why you should never use Wikipedia to research projects check this out, this is on Josep Guardiola's Wikipedia page a couple of minutes after Barca won the title, of course by a Man U fan, I discovered this when I was looking for who this manager was, I had never seen him before until last week but never cared to know who he was until now since they are the champions:
If you can't read it, it says Barcelona suck donkey ballsssssssssss
THATS SOMETHING A BRIT WOULD SAY LOL
I'm ok with Barca winning, Barca and Man U are my 2 favorite soccer teams in Europe

AMERICAN IDOL
Wednesday 8:05: Glad 2 see Shawn Johnson was reppin' the teens of the USA yesterday by winning DWTS, now I expect Kris Allen to rep the underdogs of the world and win it tonight on Idol, now don't get me wrong I'm not an Adam hater but there is nothing original about him, except for his style, I've got to admit, he's got alot of swag with the leather clothes he usually wears, but the problem with him is that all he does with all of his songs is hold the last note of his song with a higher pitch, so in conclusion I've got KRIS PULLIN IT OFF!!

30 Minutes 'till American Idol
Its 8:33pm east coast time on Wednesday April 29th and A.I. starts in a couple of mins. here are my predictions right quick, Jaime Foxx is probably the best mentor in A.I. history, he was able to get everyone to invoke so much emotion in their performances and was able to get them to reach heights they had never reached before it was crazy! For the 1st time ever I watched A.I. and EVERYONE WAS ACTUALLY GREAT AND ABOVE AVERAGE. Thats why I think this week whoever gets eliminated will be based on popularity. America hates girls and guys named Matt this season for some reason, so I believe Allison and Matt will be in the bottom 3 and Kris will join them because the odds on favorites to win A.I. right now are either Danny or Adam and despite the teenage girls falling in love with Kris, less teenagers and more older ppl are watching and in these times of economic depression America is and has always been in love with sad stories with happy endings i.e. Danny's wife dieing and Danny making it this far. We'll update u l8er 2nite.

Dying Man Pleads for Financial Help
I read a blog sometimes called Diaspora Messenger. It's an interesting blog, I use it to find out whats going on in Kenya and use it once in a while, I was looking at it today and found this interesting story.
Stephen Gathi hopes that he will get one more chance to re-unite with his family in Kenya before he dies.
Gathi, 54, popularly known as Wasarah, to his friends and relatives, is a terminally ill cancer patient who lives in Lowell, Mass.
He relocated to the United States in 2001 and has not seen his wife and six children in more than eight years. Gathi’s doctor at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, Mass., where he recently underwent an extensive eight-hour surgery, has given him only three months to live.
His final wish is to fly to Kenya to spend the rest of his life with his family.
Gathi is pleading with Kenyans in the United States to help him raise funds for his airfare.
“I have decided to go back home to pray with my wife and children,” he said, while displaying a document he received from his doctor at Beth Israel after the surgery, which explains his cancer.
Gastric cancer is the second leading cause of death worldwide and is often diagnosed at an advanced or metastatic stage. It generally has a very poor prognosis, and the mean survival of people suffering from it is 2.5 to 4 months.
Gathi also wishes to raise money to pay his skyrocketing medical expenses.
“I have medical insurance, but co-payments are rapidly adding up, and I am still undergoing treatment,” he said. Gathi has more than $15,000 in unpaid medical bills, he said. With no life insurance policy to support his loved ones when he is gone, Gathi is also worried about the fate of his two children who are still attending secondary schools in Kenya.
“I wish I had a real life insurance policy,” he said, adding that he has an accidental death and dismemberment life insurance policy with a local credit union, which will not compensate his dependants when he dies. Friends moved by Gathi’s plight have been frantically trying to figure out ways to raise funds to grant him his last wish. Gathi has also been personally seeking help from well-wishers and called AjabuAfrica last week to talk about his situation.
He presented his case to the Kenyan community last Sunday at an Easter Celebration at St. Stephen’s Church in Lowell.
The shocked congregation immediately held prayers for Gathi. They also plan to hold a fundraiser for him on Sunday at The Kenyan Community Presbyterian Church (Ushindi) at 450 Chelmsford St., at 1 p.m.
Bishop David Karaya, chairman of Kenya Pastors Fellowship in America introduced Gathi to the Kenyans, while Bishop Joshua Wambua of Rapture Harvest International presided over the prayers. Bishop Karaya encouraged Kenyans to come out in large numbers to support their brother. “Some things are hard to be told, but they must be told,” he said, as he introduced Gathi to the congregation. “It is our responsibility to help the man and his family, so let’s do all we can to raise the needed funds next Sunday at Ushindi.”
People who cannot make it to the event are encouraged to deposit their contributions to Gathi’s Bank of America account number 004626841526.
Gathi recently recounted his battle with the cancer to AjabuAfrica.
“I have been very healthy for many years and have never been on any medications,” he said, “but I started feeling nauseated every morning in Auguts last year, and I have never felt better since then.”
While at his job at Kindred Specialized Hospital in Waltham, Mass., where he served as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Gathi also experienced persistent heart burns for several days, forcing him to seek medical attention at Lowell General Hospital.
On January 29 Gathi was on his way to work when he felt very sick. He immediately changed routes and drove to Lowell General Hospital’s emergency room. Gathi was admitted at the hospital for five days.
On discharge, he resumed his job and tried to go on with his life as usual. But on February 22, he fell sick again at the end of his night shift at Kindred Hospital.
“I really vomited,” he said. “I don’t even know how I managed to drive myself back to Lowell.”
Since then Gathi’s condition has deteriorated to an extent that his stomach can no longer hold anything.
“I vomit everything I swallow, including water,” he said.
Gathi’s life has been a nightmare. Since January, he has spent a lot of time in hospital undergoing numerous tests.
He has also not been able to work for several weeks, leaving him in dire financial constraints. As a result, he has not been able to keep up with the ever-piling bills at his one-bedroom apartment at Jesus Is the Answer Church, where he occasionally serves as a pastor. He is currently staying with a friend in Lowell as he prepares for his final journey to Kenya.
Gathi, comes from Bahati location, Nakuru. His son, Nelson Gathi, lives in Seattle, Washington., and has temporarily moved to Lowell to help care for him.
Today Gathi’s son and his friends take turns shuttling him back and forth to doctors’ appointments. One such friend is Rose Muroki, who has accompanied him to several doctors’ visits.
“The news [of Gathi’s sickness] shocked all of us,” Muroki said.Rose has also been alternating as co- chair of the fundraising comitee together with Anne Kamau. Gathi said the news of his impending death hit him really hard, but he has found comfort in the Lord.
“I was shocked and afraid like any other human being facing imminent death,” he said.“But now I have the strength to accept the outcome, and I am not afraid to die anymore as I know that there is a name above all other names, and with God anything is possible.”

In conclusion I pick the Ravens to go this season 9-7 and this is why. Everyone knows the saying history repeats itself and that is the case with the Ravens. Beginning with 2001, with the exception of 2005, the Baltimore Ravens have made the playoffs every other year. YES, the Ravens do have consistency at the QB position and offensive tackle positions and YES, the Ravens still have one of the best monster defenses in the league; but in my opinion last year was just a fairytale, honestly the Ravens didn't deserve to go all the way to the AFC Championship, I mean the refs actually let Joe Flacco throw the ball after the clock expired against the Titans, without that play the Ravens would have been eliminated. If the Colts would have advanced in the playoffs without those stupid OT rules or if the Pats would have made the playoffs without these stupid rules about division leaders then I guarantee you the Ravens would have got DUSTED! The way they were playing during the playoffs was pure LUCKINESS which is why they got a easy schedule this year. You also have to remember that there is no consistency at Wide Receiver and Running Back, McGahee and Mason are banged up and the way that McClain runs the football I'm not sure if he could last all season. Now whether a 9-7 record would be the difference between playoffs and no playoffs I'm not sure, but in my honest opinion thats where I see them going and I HOPE I AM WRONG!
Here are my optimistic predictions, if all goes well
Week 1: Sunday, Sept. 13 — vs. Kansas City, 1 p.m. WIN
Week 2: Sunday, Sept. 20 — at San Diego, 4:15 p.m. WIN
Week 3: Sunday, Sept. 27 — vs. Cleveland, 1 p.m. WIN
Week 4: Sunday, Oct. 4 — at New England, 1 p.m. LOSE
Week 5: Sunday, Oct. 11 — vs. Cincinnati, 1 p.m. WIN
Week 6: Sunday, Oct. 18 — at Minnesota, 1 p.m. WIN
Week 7: BYE
Week 8: Sunday, Nov. 1 — vs. Denver, 1 p.m. LOSE
Week 9: Sunday, Nov. 8 — at Cincinnati, 1 p.m. WIN
Week 10: Sunday, Monday, Nov. 16 — at Cleveland, 8:30 p.m. WIN
Week 11: Sunday, Nov. 22 — vs. Indianapolis, 1 p.m. LOSE
Week 12: Sunday, Nov. 29 — vs. Pittsburgh, 8:20 p.m. WIN
Week 13: Monday, Dec. 7 — at Green Bay, 8:30 p.m. WIN
Week 14: Sunday, Dec. 13 — vs. Detroit, 1 p.m. WIN
Week 15: Sunday, Dec. 20 — vs. Chicago, 1 p.m. WIN
Week 16: Sunday, Dec. 27 — at Pittsburgh, 1 p.m. LOSE
Week 17: Sunday, Jan. 3 — at Oakland, 4:15 p.m. WIN
So the most games I see them winning is 12 and the most games I see them losing is 4, so of course that 12-4
Here is my pessimistic schedule, if all hell breaks loose
Week 1: Sunday, Sept. 13 — vs. Kansas City, 1 p.m. WIN
Week 2: Sunday, Sept. 20 — at San Diego, 4:15 p.m. LOSE
Week 3: Sunday, Sept. 27 — vs. Cleveland, 1 p.m. WIN
Week 4: Sunday, Oct. 4 — at New England, 1 p.m. LOSE
Week 5: Sunday, Oct. 11 — vs. Cincinnati, 1 p.m. WIN
Week 6: Sunday, Oct. 18 — at Minnesota, 1 p.m. LOSE
Week 7: BYE
Week 8: Sunday, Nov. 1 — vs. Denver, 1 p.m. LOSE
Week 9: Sunday, Nov. 8 — at Cincinnati, 1 p.m. LOSE
Week 10: Sunday, Monday, Nov. 16 — at Cleveland, 8:30 p.m. LOSE
Week 11: Sunday, Nov. 22 — vs. Indianapolis, 1 p.m. LOSE
Week 12: Sunday, Nov. 29 — vs. Pittsburgh, 8:20 p.m. LOSE
Week 13: Monday, Dec. 7 — at Green Bay, 8:30 p.m. LOSE
Week 14: Sunday, Dec. 13 — vs. Detroit, 1 p.m. WIN
Week 15: Sunday, Dec. 20 — vs. Chicago, 1 p.m. WIN
Week 16: Sunday, Dec. 27 — at Pittsburgh, 1 p.m. LOSE
Week 17: Sunday, Jan. 3 — at Oakland, 4:15 p.m. WIN
So in my pessimistic schedule I see the Ravens losing 10 at the most and winning 6 at the least, so thats 6-10.
LETS REVIEW
HONEST: 9-7
OPTIMISTIC: 12-4
PESSIMISTIC: 6-10
SO WHICH RECORD DO I CHOOSE TO HOLD ON 2?
Um.....................................Um.......................................................Um............................................................................
Lets go with 12-4 that is the record I am sticking with for the rest of the season, although the last time I predicted they would go 12-4, I was on local radio at WNST in their studios with a couple of guys like Rex Snider and Mark Suchy (2 local radio guys), and the next season they went 5-11, but because I'm a Ravens fan and very hopeful, and I hear that the Ravens are looking into Anquan Boldin and Darius Heyward-Bey and Hakeem Nicks and a whole bunch of other people I'm goin' 2 take a leap of faith and have faith in them.
BUT I CAN GUARANTEE A COUPLE OF THINGS:
-If they do not go 12-4, they will either go:
a. 6-10
b. 9-7
c. 0-16
d.5-11
Nothing higher unless the guy you bow down your knees to every night is playing or nothing lower if high school amatuers are'nt playing
-They WILL beat Kansas City, Oakland, Detroit
-They WILL beat Cincy, Cleveland AT LEAST ONCE
-The following 7 games and 1 week WILL determine the Ravens season:
Week 2: Sunday, Sept. 20 — at San Diego, 4:15 p.m.
WHY? Because it's their 1st West-Coaster
Week 4: Sunday, Oct. 4 — at New England, 1 p.m.
WHY? N.E. wants to prove they deserved to be in the playoffs not Baltimore
Week 7: BYE
WHY? Injuries
Week 10: Sunday, Monday, Nov. 16 — at Cleveland, 8:30 p.m.
WHY? Only 3 nationally televised games and this one is against a subpar team, you should be able to prove yourselves in PRIMETIME fashion
Week 11: Sunday, Nov. 22 — vs. Indianapolis, 1 p.m.
WHY? When was the last time you beat Indy "Let me think about that?" NEVER!!! What the @!$# happens when you play them it's like David and Goliath with David losing!!
Week 12: Sunday, Nov. 29 — vs. Pittsburgh, 8:20 p.m.
WHY? Who cost you a chance to go to Disney World? That's right thats what I thought
Week 13: Monday, Dec. 7 — at Green Bay, 8:30 p.m.
WHY? It's Lambeau Field, It's ESPN, It's Monday Night Football BABY Can't get any COLDER THAN THIS!
Week 16: Sunday, Dec. 27 — at Pittsburgh, 1 p.m.
WHY? THEY WON THE FREAKIN' SUPER BOWL WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN WHY??
